The Dame's report 'leaked' ?

Goodness Gracious Guys and Gals, exaggerator news appears to have gotten hold of extracts from Dame Smith's BBC Savile review ! The very same day that her office confirmed that the report would be published in six weeks time.

http://www.theguardian.com/media/2016/jan/20/bbc-jimmy-savile-report-dame-janet-smith

Exaggo have posted numerous articles on the subject today including this interesting piece involving the Clare McAlpine story. According to the author, the disc jockey named in Claire's diary is NOT Jimmy Savile because he's actually spoke to the Dame.

 Notice 'disc jockey' singular
A7 is not named, and I wonder what, if anything will happen to him ?
Goodness Gracious, read the whole thing yourselves !

I won't link any of their other relevant posts. I'd rather wait for the real thing ! Can't bloody wait :-)

    2. How edifying to see the name of ex-NOTW hack sharing the byline on these latest 'revelations' from Exaro!

Given what we know about the truth of the McAlpine-case (a truth absent from the Exaro-article, and quite possibly from the Smith-report too) they were probably sensible in not including his name (Tim Wood) on this particular piece.

    3. I've commented on Hencke's site (can't be bothered signing-up to Exagero!):

    4. I'm almost at a loss for words! Hencke:

"Yes I am afraid you are going to have issues with Dame Janet Smith. Her report emphasises that top BBC execs should have taken much more notice of what was published in those terrible tabloids, the Sun, the News of the World and the Sunday Mirror at the time and been aware of what was going on."

That'd be seedy Trevor Kempson & degenerate Clive Cooke, then, and their invented tabloid bullshit! Just incredible... Beam me up, please!!!

  3. It looks as if Dame Janet's team are calling Exaro's reporting inaccurate and irresponsible.

    1. Only because it got out before they had OK'd it with their masters. OMG it's all about Savile. Where's all the others ?

    2. From the BBC article:
"The abuse is thought to have begun in the mid-1940s, when he was in his late teens or early 20s, and lasted until 2009."

I don't recall anything as early as that coming up before. Did he not spend a significant part of his late teens and early twenties recovering from a mining accident? I was under the impression that he was bedridden for a period of months, or longer.

    3. Yewtree said his peak was tween 1966 to 76 or thereabouts ! In other words in his forties ! OMG Don't predatory peadophiles remain so forever ? I think the last tale involved a train putting his hand up some middle aged bird's skirt yes really

  4. Only three DJ's presented TOTP around the time of Claire's death. Jimmy, Tony Blackburn and Ed Stewart. TB and Jimmy mostly on alternate weeks

    1. I love that picture of Savile & Blackburn you tweeted a while back, Rabbitaway!

  5. From what I've seen so far it looks like the report simply takes Savile's guilt as read and therefore the BBC must have been negligent in a) allowing it, b) not finding out about it.
It doesn't look as if the report ever seriously questioned whether there was anything to find out in the first place.

My first thought on hearing about the "leak" was that someone wanted the scary headlines established so that people would be even less likely to read the report in detail when it was actually published.

  6. I’ve just opened the Mail’s piece on all this <a href="http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3411568/Woman-groped-Jimmy-Savile-live-air-hits-abuse-review.html”>(link)</a> to see that the video of the girl squirming on TOTP is preceded by an advertisement for some dubious legal practitioners.

    2. In the Sun article (from where the Mail nicked its own piece) we hear that the live-on-tv 'attack' on the 18-year old woman is being taken seriously:

"In the judge’s draft report, she said Sylvia’s was “one of two quite serious indecent assaults”..."

It certainly had a long-lasting effect on her:

"Sylvia, who partly blames the breakdown of her marriage on her ordeal..."

    3. Whoops, she's now 19 according to the Mirror!

    4. Her marriage broke down because a DJ tickled her on TOTP in 1976 ? Stretching things a bit innit !!!

  7. @Bandini I knew I was right.
"peration Yewtree was selling us a story that Jimmy spent every waking moment in pursuit of his sexual demons; we were repeatedly seeing a clip from Top of the Pops, where a woman of 18 or 19 appeared to have had her bottom pinched by his wandering hands"
